Visit
Places of memory and learning.
Some places carry special meaning in Ambedkarite Buddhist history. They are not only places to visit. They help people remember the movement, study its history, and feel connected to a larger community of learning and self-respect.
Deekshabhoomi, Nagpur is the place where Dr. B.R. Ambedkar accepted Buddhism with a large gathering on 14 October 1956. It remains one of the most important places in Ambedkarite Buddhist public memory.
Chaityabhoomi, Mumbai is associated with Ambedkar's Mahaparinirvan. Many people visit to remember his life, his work, and the responsibility of continuing the struggle for equality and dignity.
